128 kbps AAC
256 kbps MP3

In order of best sound quality, which file format should I choose?
I’ve heard some people say that MP3 loses a lot of quality when compressed and that AAC and WMA are better even at lower bit rates, is this true even though the MP3 has a higher bit rate?

higher bits per second = higher quality

So MP3 wins

Edit: 256kbs a second for a 3minute song is

256 x 60 x 3 = 4680kbs = 4.68mb That is pretty good quality for a 3minute mp3
So it’s not compressed at all.

My favorite radio stations are 90 miles away and I can barely pick them up,what kind of radio would be good for distance this far away?

Given that 90 miles is not that far for AM or SW, I’m gonna guess you are looking for hints to get FM stations.

If that is the case, the best way to accomplish this is to connect the radio to an outdoor antenna, so any radio with the ability to connect an external antenna would be a decent ‘first try’ at this, If there are ‘challenges’ like stations near the frequency you are trying to receive, selectivity may be an issue, and ultimately different radios will have different sensitivity figures which will impact what you can hear, but I would strongly suggest the FIRST option is to use what you already have, and try attaching a real antenna (like a TV antenna) to the FM input and see if that doesn’t do the trick.

Once you have tried that, you will at least know what the issues are and you can provide further details about what worked and what didn’t so you can start asking more specific questions. Some people may try to tell you ‘this can’t be done’ but that is NOT true, Good luck,

How do I set my radio stations?

Read the instructions to set the radio presets in your owner’s manual. Each car is specific and depends on the kind of radio you have. All you need to know are in this book. Enjoy! Best of luck.

I have an ipod 4 touch and a Lexus RX 2009 and the radio doesn’t have satellite or an auxillary jack. I’d like to get the radio stations to come up on my navigation screen like a satellite access would.

You don’t stream anything without an internet connection……by definition, streaming requires one. A 4G iPhone (which connects to the internet through wireless broadband) could do it, but not an iTouch.

If you just mean connecting what’s already downloaded on your ipod to your stereo, there are two ways to do this.

The cheap way is to buy either a FM transmitter (which transmits a low power signal to an empty channel on your car’s FM radio) or an adaptor that plugs into a tape player (if you even have one). Either of these solutions can be had for under $10. You won’t be able to control it through your nav screen doing it this way (control from the ipod only).

http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Automobile-Charger-Adapter-Transmitter/dp/B0030LSFPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325830590&sr=8-1

The more expensive way is to get an ipod integration kit from Lexus. This costs several hundred bucks just for the part, then more for a dealer to install it. This will provide the direct integration into the stereo/nav screen that you seek.

http://www.lexus.com/models/RX/accessories/interface_kit_for_iPod.html

Good luck!
