I always wondered why there is never any major radio stations for techno/dance music. It seems like a catagory in itself to me. I am planning on studying broadcasting in college and want to become a radio station dj. I just always wondered if people would listen to a techno radio station or why there isn’t any. I mean they have country, pop, hip hop, and classical stations. I just wondered because my dream is to have a techno station:)
I agree with the first answer but think most Americans don’t like techo but people like it in Europe
I think there are techno stations on satellite radio but I don’t remember hearing techno anyplace other than dances.
I would not listen to a techno station but if one goes novelty/dementia I am there.
Doing a web search it looks like there might be Techno stations
Why is there never any major techno radio stations?
What are some Japanese online radio stations to listen to to learn?
What are some Japanese radio stations that are online that I can listen to? I understand you should listen to the language you’re wanting to learn often… but any I come across are in Japanese text so I can’t figure out how to get them to play.
Here’s a suggestion: Download iTunes, install it, go to the podcasts tab, change your "region" to Japan, and then browse Japanese podcasts, and download them to iTunes. I think doing that is easier than trying to find radio stations online.
A website where you can find more info on what to listen, among a lot of very awesome information on how to learn Japanese, is:

I hope you find this info helpful lv!
How do I set radio stations on to the channels in a Vauxhall corsa?
I’ve just bought a Vauxhall Corsa and I’m struggling with the radio as I cant seem to set the channels 1-6 to different radio stations so it is easier to change from one radio station to another. Can anyone please help ![]()
With the majority of modern car radios, you tune to a station you want, then press *and hold* the button you want to save it on.
It will momentarily change to whatever station is already on that button, but after holding it in for a few seconds it will change back to the one you want. It’s then been saved.
What HD radio stations are only available through an HD tuner?
Are there any radio stations that can only be heard through an HD radio tuner? Or is HD radio just all the same channels but in higher sound quality?
I live in Detroit, but what about other cities, like LA, NY?
Just about all of us are running subchannels. In Detroit, you have quite a variety of stations only available with an HD radio. Get the whole list at www.hdradio.com For my $$, Smooth Jazz V98.7 HD-2 is a really good listen. And Detroit’s first Hispanic channel is on WYCD-HD3.
Do the radio stations produce the commercials? Or does a separate studio do that?
I was wondering if the radio stations have voice talents that create the commercials for people who want to advertise. Or does another studio do the recording and then give it to the radio station to play?
I wasn’t sure if the radio station was a one stop shop or if I need to find someone to produce the recording separate from buying air/advertising time from the radio station.
Thanks for your help!
limited only. a few local advertisers might use such services. many will use a separate advertising agency which arranges that, either locally or nationally.

Why do radio stations interfere with each other?
I’ve noticed that certain radio stations will have interference with others in close proximity to them. For example, 88.9 will have interference from 88.8, but why? If they’re both separate frequencies, how could they interfere with each other?
Radio stations are assigned frequencies which *aren’t* supposed to interfere with each other. (Also, if I’m not mistaken, the FM stations are spaced at 0.2 MHz difference, so it would be 88.7 and 88.9 rather than 88.8 and 88.9 frequencies.)
As to their being on different frequencies – The listed frequency is the station’s center frequency. To broadcast its audio, transmission of the signal is done on a narrow range of frequencies which are centered around the listed frequency.
How to save radio stations in a Hyundai Santa Fe?
I have a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe and I don’t know how to save my favorite radio stations. I think the manual said to hold down the "band" button but I don’t see that button. Does anyone know?
Thank you!
Tune in the station you want to save and press the any of the channel select buttons, hold it for a few seconds and it will lock on. That button should always tune to that station after that until you do the save procedure again.
How do radio stations calculate the amount of listeners?
I was wondering how do radio stations calculate the amount of people listening to their station. Is it just how strong the pull is on the signal, or is there a precise way of calculating listeners?
A company called Arbitron uses sampling to determine radio ratings.
What sports talk radio stations do you listen to?

Its kind of lame right now during the night hours because of the holidays. The regulars are on vacation for the most part. The daytime broadcast is still going strong through the holidays.
