How can you listen to out of state radio stations in your car?

Posted by admin on June 18th, 2010 and filed under radio stations | 2 Comments »

I’m from Kansas and would like to be able to hear radio stations from other states in my car, as I drive. How do I do this?

My idea goes like this: you’ll need a s60 phone, an internet radio aplication, (so maybe an unlimited internet subscription to your provider), and an fm modulator.
Yoy search the station you nedd over the net(hoping it is there), you hook your phone to the modulator and search the frequency on your car radio ;)

Why are radio stations offline a certain type of music in the USA and not in Europe?

Posted by admin on May 20th, 2010 and filed under radio stations | 2 Comments »

When overseas we found that music was mixed up on different radio offline channels. Why do stations have certain music on certain stations here in the USA? We heard oldies with new songs and it was a good mix on commerical radio in Europe. When did formatting the stations start here?

We here in The UK have dedicated or specialized stations that will play only
RnB or Jazz or Classical,etc
We also have many stations that play an assortment of music.-these tend to be most of the commercial stations.

How much does it cost for BBC Radio to operate its AM radio stations in the Middle East? I believe they have a radio station in Dubai.

That is something you would have to contact the BBC about.

How Do I set the Radio Stations in a 98 Blazer?

Posted by admin on May 14th, 2010 and filed under radio stations | 2 Comments »

I just got this from my mom as my first car. I did it for her about 2 years ago and the owners manual isn’t in it. The radio is the CD player, has 6 buttons (3 on top and 3 on bottom), and it is an LS model. How do I set the stupid radio stations?

Tune in the radio station you want to set a button for, then press and hold the button for a few seconds. The radio dial light will blink off then back on, or you will get a short beep from the radio. Your button is set! Repeat with other radio stations until you fill up all 6. Then you can go to the next band (AM/FM1/FM2) and do it again!

Can you use the itunes radio stations as background sound for youtube videos?

Posted by admin on May 9th, 2010 and filed under radio stations | 1 Comment »

I want to make a series of youtube videos but I don’t want to go around finding several copyright free songs for each one. If I just let the radio from itunes play in the background while I speak, will that be copyright-free?

I mean the radio stations ARE free so it SHOULD be ok, you’d think?

Nope. Radio stations obtain the right by the copyright owners of the music to play it. As long as you record and use a section of radio play that has a copyrighted song playing, you are still committing infringement. Not only that, you’re now probably infringing on the radio station unless you get permission from them ALSO, to use their broadcasts.

In my most subtle, non-crime-endorsing opinion, I find it easier to just say screw it and upload whatever. If it gets deleted, oh well. Life goes on.
