I’ve always wondered how exactly music is regulated via radio. Do the radio stations pay the artist per every time they play their song? Or do they buy a song at a bulk purchase and can play the songs as many times as they want?
I’ve wondered if there were any radio stations that indulge in some form of piracy.
They buy a blanket license from the 3 major "performance rights" agencies,
ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. Cost is usually based on revenue and/or market size.
Non-broadcast forms of radio must also pay SoundExchange.
I hear people say, 93.5,95.1, 97.9,100.3, and 103.7 etc.on f.m on the radio. preferred music such as rock, country, hip-hop, rap, and heavy metal music. what would you prefer if not list what do listen to everyday?
WWYZ 92.5 or WTIC AM 1080 for sports.
I don’t have anything open, and I keep hearing some radio station or something that is talking about myspace and new artists… But I have closed out everything down to my desktop. Any ideas?
Absolutely. There isn’t a straightforward way to accomplish that, however by using the MySpace CSS code i appended below, you’ll definitely be able to hide your MySpace music player box.
You can quick post the code automatically to your About Me section by clicking on the Copy button in the widget below:

Is it ok to have soft music playing while my baby is sleeping or is it better to have it quiet with no noise
I know their brains need to develop, so is music helping or hurting?
I usually keep the radio on NPR and sometimes there is music and sometimes there is talking, do you think it makes a difference for their brain developement if sometimes it’s just talking?
Any studies or info would help. Thanks!!
When you are asleep do you hear anything?? Maybe in light patches but when you are deeply asleep you don’t even smell anything, lol.
With both my kids I have had a radio or cd playing in their rooms from birth to keep a familiar environment and when they stir it hasn’t changed from when they went to bed. It can also help with making all the other house noises not seem so loud and the nights after everyone else is asleep the house doesn’t seem so quiet.
Personal preference, other parents are horrified my 4yo still has a cd playing in her room all night, lol.
i’ve been trying to watch movies and tv on my computer but this radio keeps coming up its driving me crazy any ideas wat cause it

Im doing a project for a communications class and im having trouble finding the FIRST internet radio station, i know that carl malamud launched " internet talk radio " – would that be the first station to produce streming music as well ?
ayo WXYC began simulcasting its off-air signal in the fall of 1994, using the Cu-SeeMe utility developed at Cornell University. We went official on November 7, 1994, becoming the first radio station in the world to offer a live Internet simulcast of an off-air signal.
In 1995 we upgraded to a Streamworks encoder/server setup with support from Xing Technologies, broadcasting a 16K signal around the globe.

I know about that payola BS and that most mainstream stations have only about 400 songs in their library per week. So who decides what gets played on radio? Because I’m sure some songs would get popular if they got play
It depends on the station. Some rely more on pre-programming, some on the Billboard charts, and some are more DJ-chosen. Call up a station that’s more DJ-chosen and ask them to play something. As listeners listen, they will be more likely to re-request something that has had recent airplay.
If you’re in a band, send them a comp copy, and then call them in a week and ask, "Hey, do you have __ by __? Could you play it?"
Some friends have a local radio show in France and would like to upload it as a downloadable (or streamable) file on their web page. The show goes out live in the region via the airwaves and the internet.
You might consider posting this question on a French legal forum because French copyright and contract law are applicable. I’m a U.S. based attorney, so I’ll try to help as best as I can.
Most likely, the issue you’re dealing with here is determining who the owner of the copyright is. That is, who owns the copyright to the radio program. Is it your friends who created the radio show, the radio station that broadcasts the show, or maybe someone else?
The first place to look to determine your answer is the contracts between your friends and the radio station. Your friends might consider speaking directly with a French attorney to go over the contract and to determine their rights under French law.
Greetings:
What is the best (by consensus, ratings, popularity, personal opinion, etc.) country & western music radio (or Internet) in the world? Thank you for reading my question and I look forward to reading your responses.
I live in Colorado and I love 98.5 KYGO! They have the station streaming online at their website!
I have been sitting in complete silence all day/night and feel very much at peace! Otherwise I usually have the TV on or the radio tuned to a talk radio or something.
I usually have nothing on. It’s quiet peaceful.
