I am thinking to start a FM Radio station Please advice me.

Hi amit.THis is my knowledge about how to start fm radio.Have and fun.

Whether you are looking for information on how to start up a FM radio station that operates on a low power FM basis, operates on a full power frequency or alternatively streams on the internet, it is essential to first establish what the options available to you are. It is also important to understand the process for obtaining a frequency, what the licensing requirements are, and also what type of FM broadcasting equipment and studio gear you will need to run the radio station.

The following is a brief outline of some of the options that may be available. Please that not all options may be available in all countries, as license conditions do vary.

When it comes to how to start up a FM radio station, one of the options is low power FM. This type of radio station operates at lesser power than commercial stations and so they cover a smaller area. The exact area they will cover is dependent on terrain and the exact amount of power you are permitted. Again depending on the country you live in, the low power FM service may enable you to broadcast anywhere near from 500mW to 100W, and may be license-free or alternatively it may be licensed. This level of power is sufficient to cover anywhere between a radius of a few kilometres to several kilometres.

Another option is operating a full power licensed radio station. This type of frequency will give station maximum coverage and will enable you to reach as many listeners as possible. Depending on the country you live in, there can frequently be provisions to operate on a full power frequency, but either on a commercial, non-commercial or educational basis. However, operating a full power FM radio station can be a somewhat complicated process – especially during the initial stages of determining whether there are frequencies available in your area and also costing the equipment that is needed. If you want to start up a full power FM radio station, then it is essential to get expert guidance at the earliest stage. This will ensure you get the information you need to make an informed decision.

If these options don’t appeal or are not available in your area, you have one other method for how to start up a FM radio station. You are able to establish a station that streams on the internet. It will be available to a worldwide audience and can stream in your choice of format. Common formats include Winamp and Windows Media Player, although generally we recommend the latter as most people won’t need to download any additional software to listen to your station. This type of radio station can use a great deal of bandwidth, so it is important to have a fast speed internet connection with a high data cap limit.

When it comes to choosing the type of station you will set up, one of the most common constraints is budget. That said, it has been proven that a station can start out on a low power FM basis and successfully make the transition to operating a full power licensed commercial FM radio station. Some of the points to consider when looking how to start up a FM radio station include:

- The process for obtaining an FM frequency and what to look out for

– How many Watts you will need to achieve the broadcast coverage you want

– What your obligations will be when it comes to music royalties

- What specialist services you need before to assist you in submitting your application for a frequency

– What is the most appropriate powered transmitter and what type of antenna would be needed

– The type of radio automation software that will be used

What equiment do I need to set up a high power fm radio transmitter?

Let’s say 3000w or more…
I have aquired a frequency in my town (In Honduras) and I don’t know anything about fm radio equipment. Can someone direct me as to what equipment I need for the broadcast room, trasmitter, antenna, etc.?
This will be a Christian radio station and I want to cover about 300 miles radious, in a mountainous area…
Tahnks and Blessings,

Do you have a construction permit to build the station?

If so, it will specify the power level.

I would recommend this site:

http://www.ccbroadcasters.com

This is a site for Christian LPFMs, but you will be able to get an idea of what you need from the equipment lists they have. You will be looking at a transmitter at higher power levels than LPFMs.

You will need a broadcast console (mixer) and components for audio sources, such as computers, CD players and such. Most Christian stations have a satellite dish and receiver for bringing in Christian programming from networks.

You will need an engineer. The voltage on this size transmitter is dangerous and can be fatal if you don’t know what you are doing. The FM set-ups genarally require a device known as an FM exciter, and an audio chain for processing and monitoring.

Best wishes to you!

It is not possible, as the antenna is IN the wires on the headset. The antenna is needed or the radio will not work.

What is the best AM/FM portable radio for the Gym?

hey guys, so i am looking to get a GOOD portable am/fm Radio for use at the gym. I recently bought a new Sony Walkman one but it gets really awful reception inside of the gym. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any brands that either had very exceptional reception quality or were maybe made for gym use.

Thanks!

My Wife and Daughter use the SanDisk – Ditigal Audio Players w/ FM Tuners and they both say it gets great reception inside and out of the Gym Building.

I want to have a Christian radio on the FM waves. How does it work?

You’ll need to contact the FCC and ask them. That’s all government controlled.

Is there a difference between am radio and fm radio?

Posted by admin on May 14th, 2010 and filed under fm radio | 3 Comments »

Today is one of those days where the weirdest thoughts come up. I was wondering is there a difference between am radio and fm radio and if there is what is it? Why is fm more popular?

FM allows for more bandwidth (stereo), which results in better audio quality (AM is Mono).
FM also is more robust to noise and interference, which improves quality even further.

What mp3 player can download photos directly from my camera and has FM radio?

Posted by admin on May 14th, 2010 and filed under fm radio | 2 Comments »

I have a Canon S70 digital camera and can’t seem to find an mp3 player that has built-in FM radio, and more importantly, will accept photos directly from my camera. Thanks!

Best thing to do with your pictures is to first get them on your computer and get a program like Faststone image resizer and make the pictures smaller so they take up less space when you put them into your player. An mp3 player i suggest are from iriver http://www.misticriver.net I have a T10 1 gig and can put pictures on it and it has an fm radio.

How i can have a FM radio station?

I have a farm in mountains and there is no any communication. I would like to establishe a FM radio there. Two small station with 2KM radius. and two FM radio for receiving the waves. How can i build it? Any idea?

If you are just listening to music, it would be a lot easier to get a boom box. If you want 2-way communications, a CB can be gotten at Radio Shack.

If you want to establish a radio station, low power FM is the way to go. It costs about $250 k to set up the station and about $100 k per year to operate it.
